I used to be a massive Oasis fan until all the lyrics started sounding the same and their ‘we are the biggest band in the world so we can do anything we want’ attitude bored me. I own Definitely Maybe and What’s the Story Morning Glory but didn’t bother with Be Here Now or Heathen Chemistry. I have however (although begrudgingly) bought the latest Oasis album – Don’t Believe the Truth and was quite surprised!

I’d already heard the single Lyla which I thought was OK and heard Mucky Fingers a couple of times but at first the album didn’t bowl me over. After listening a few times it did grow on me particularly the last half of the songs on the album.

The whole album has a 70’s feel about it – particularly track 8, 'Part of the Queue' which resembles The Stranglers ‘Golden Brown’ and it’s nice to hear Noel singing a bit more. Although Liam is a talented vocalist, his pronunciation and tone gets on my nerves after a while!

Generally a good album from the self proclaimed biggest band in the world!
